How To Order

 

This section provides help information to guide you through the order process - you may want to print this page so that you can read it as you go through the process for real.

 

If you are a new or an existing customer you can just start shopping!

As you add an item to your basket you will receive notification that the item has been added and the basket tally at the top of the page will keep a record of the number of items in the basket and the current total.

Whilst you shop you can view your basket, either by using the “View your basket now” link that appears once you have added an item or using the “View your basket” link on the top right hand corner of the shop page. To return to the online shop, just click on one of the green shop categories.

Once you have finished shopping click on one of the “View basket” links to take you back to your basket.

To change the quantity of any item ordered enter a new quantity and press the “Update” button. If you want to remove an item from your basket, put a “0” quantity and press the “Update” button.

Once you have checked your items and are ready to order, click on the “Place order” button and you will be prompted to either login as an existing customer or to register as a new customer.

If you are an existing customer you will now need to use your email address (rather than username) plus your password to login.

Once you have logged in it will take you back to the basket page and you can then proceed to “Place order”. You are then given the option of choosing an existing delivery address or you can add a new delivery address by clicking on the link.

At this point you can also add any delivery notes, such as ‘leave with neighbour if not in’, etc.

There is no commitment to pay at this stage, so you can check your order and postage and packaging rates at this point, particularly if you are ordering outside of the UK.

When you've added everything you want into the shopping basket, click on the “Place order” button at the bottom of the screen.

You now need to click on the “Proceed to Payment” button and enter your credit card details on the Worldpay payment page. Select the payment method from the list by clicking on one of the card company logos. Fill in the details, check carefully and then click on 'Make Payment'.

(Please note that all orders including preorders are paid for at time of placing the order)

For all credit card transactions, these are processed through our partners World Pay. Once your transaction has been processed, you will receive two emails, one from HFW Interactive Limited ("River Cottage"), confirming the details of your order and another from World Pay confirming the financial transaction.

We operate an e-ticket system, so if you have ordered an event, you will receive an event confirmation with timings, directions and everything else you need to know about your event, plus a link to our recommended local accommodation page.

If you have ordered a voucher, a unique voucher code will be automatically emailed to you after ordering your vouchers online, and a copy will be sent to you in the post within a week to ten days of ordering.

If you have ordered membership you should receive an email welcoming you to the River Cottage Membership Programme which includes details for logging on to the online courses and confirms the other benefits of the programme.
